MAQS (Mite Away Quick Strips)

Another weapon has been added to Missouri beekeepers arsenal against Varroa mites.  In March 2011, all 50 states were approved for the new Mite Aaway Quick Strips.  MAQS are a formic acid based strip that are placed in the hive to release formic acid at a controlled rate.  The good thing about these strips is that they can be used when hives are supered.  For more information on MAQS, visit the NOD website.
